Main Street Gettysburg is partnered with the Gettysburg-Adams County Chamber of Commerce, Adams County Community Foundation, Adams County Arts Council, and the Borough of Gettysburg, as well as local realtors, business owners, and residents all with one common goal: to revitalize Elm Street District into a prosperous, stable community for both homeowners and tenants.
A grant was awarded from Department of Community and Economic Development to develop a revitalization plan to transform this section of Gettysburg into a thriving neighborhood. Grant funds have allowed engagement with a professional consultant, Derck & Edson, to complete an inventory assessment, conduct resident and business surveys, and recommend incentives for participation in data collection.
The assessment included a review of the previous Elm Street Program, overlay boundaries, goals, accomplishments, and unfinished objectives. The review provides a foundation for an updated assessment to recommend boundaries, goals and objectives, participants, and targeted projects and programs.
